This week, the Government unveiled the “Get Britain Working” White Paper, emphasising the urgent need to address the current challenges young people face in accessing employment and education.
At Elevate Education Business Partnership, we are proud to champion this mission by supporting young people across the Liverpool City Region in rebuilding their futures, unlocking opportunities, and equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to succeed. EMPOWERMENT THROUGH TRAINING AND EDUCATION
We believe education is the cornerstone of opportunity. By collaborating with local schools, colleges, vocational institutions, and community organisations we can create pathways for continued learning, whether that’s returning to formal education, pursuing apprenticeships, or engaging in short-term upskilling courses.
Our programmes empower local young people to develop the skills employers value most, from confidence to effective job searching to interpersonal communication.
REMOVING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT
For many young people, re-entering the workforce can be filled with obstacles, and it’s important that we acknowledge this. By recognising these hurdles, Elevate EBP is able to provide holistic support that includes career coaching, CV writing workshops, and mock interviews. We are preparing young people to face the careers landscape with confidence.
It’s also important to note that personal circumstances can vary, and practical barriers such as transport, childcare, and mental health support can also affect progress into work. At the EBP, we’ve tailored our programmes so that they go beyond the basics and address obstacles with tailored support to meet individual needs. A personalised approach ensures that no one is left behind.
CONNECTING WITH EMPLOYERS
One critical element of supporting young people back into work and education is by creating collaboration between employers and the next generation of talent. Education Businesses links are in our name, and we are constantly connecting businesses with young people through work experience placements, employer encounters, and mentorship opportunities.
These partnerships don’t just benefit our young people either; they also strengthen the broader local economy. By aligning the skills and aspirations of the next generation with the needs of employers, we are building a resilient and adaptable workforce for the future.
BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND RESILIENCE
The impact of unemployment or disrupted education can weigh heavily on a young person’s confidence. To counter this, we provide one-on-one coaching and establish peer support networks. Elevate EBP is passionate that our initiatives nurture resilience, rebuild confidence, and empower young people to thrive in competitive environments.
We understand that confidence is a crucial ingredient in success, which is why we all should aim to inspire young people to realise their potential and seize new opportunities.
A CALL TO ACTION FOR THE LIVERPOOL CITY REGION!
As we respond to the Governments “Get Britain Working” White Paper, Elevate EBP is particularly excited to show our support of the Liverpool Youth Trailblazer initiative. This localised effort is an opportunity to create waves of social impact felt by young lives across the Liverpool City Region.
“We are proud to support the “Get Britain Working” White Paper and its focus on creating opportunities for young people. At Elevate EBP, we’re already deeply invested in helping young people across the Liverpool City Region find their best path into employment, education, or training, and we see first-hand the positive impact this can have on their lives. This agenda aligns perfectly with our mission to Transform Lives and Create Growth and we look forward to continuing to support it locally.”
Gill Ditchburn, CEO at Elevate EBP
The “Get Britain Working” White Paper sets a clear call to action, and we are passionately committed to this cause. Together with our partners, funders, and sponsors we are already working to create a future where promise and opportunity is accessible to all.
Let’s work together to ensure that every young person has the chance to succeed. We invite Skills England, the Mayor and local authorities from the Liverpool City Region, MPs and Councillors to reach out to us to Get Britain Working.
