March was a month of collaboration, innovation, and inspiration as 62 businesses and organisations from across the Liverpool City Region joined forces with Elevate EBP and Hugh Baird College to support the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) through the Pathways to Employment initiative.

The LSIP, launched in June 2023, aims to bridge the gap between the region’s workforce capabilities and its growth sector industries. Thanks to the combined efforts of several colleges, a significant £4.5 million investment was secured to fund six distinct projects, with the Pathways to Employment initiative being one of them.

This project hosted 10 events where over 75 professionals from leading employers such as Currie & BrownMatalanNHSUnileverGirls in Marketingand Biograd (amongst many more!) engaged with students. These individuals, all experts within our local growth sector fields, shared valuable insights, career opportunities, and the essential skill sets required to thrive in our local priority job sectors.

From the vibrant world of Digital and Creative industries to the robust sectors of Construction, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Professional Business Services, students gained a deeper understanding of the exciting career prospects awaiting them right here in the Liverpool City Region.

The success of this initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support and commitment of the professionals who generously gave their time and expertise. We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to every single corporate volunteer for your dedication to inspiring the next generation of talent and engaging in meaningful dialogue about career pathways during these events.
